First off, I went for the A560 and not the A580 because I dont need that much megapixel plus I cannot justify the price of $150 more for the A580. It takes great pictures and has enough manual controls for the serious hobbyist. It does tend to lean towards overexposure when used with auto or P auto but a few minor adjustments like setting the EV value a bit downward will give you stunning exposures, but then its probably because I like my pictures with a bit more contrast under low light. It is also well known that the a560 shares the same sensor as the much more expensive Nikon D7000 which also has the same tendency to overexpose. Controlling noise under low light is second to none. Sony did put a great deal into controlling noise level under low light. Shooting at ISO3600 gives you almost undiscernible noise unless your a pixel peeper.
